Hello Hello! Welcome back to another Friday blog, this week's focus is "Just Us Girls".
This piece is a fun line art piece done with the desire to draw something fun and fashionable. Playing with different sizes of the women and their stance as a piece. Creating a fun composition and interaction between the four fashionistas!
Currently, I have separated three of the four girls into their own pieces, so if you have a favorite but, don't want this specific piece, feel free to check out the website for their individual pieces.
This gal on the top left side is my piece "I Know You Looking", kneeling down in a beautiful low back cowl neck dress that's right above her knees, also sporting textured pantihose and a few jewelry pieces being on her forearm and in her hair. Topped off with the waistband that has a dangling rectangle jewel. I wanted her to have a playful look with how I have her positioned next to the other girl kneeling down. As if they're... talking about you. Is it in a good way? Are they laughing? Or maybe judging you.. Only they know.
Our 90 angle girl is my piece "Futuristic Sass".
This gal on the top right was inspired by the British guard. Well, it started off that way but then took on a more futuristic, whimsical twist. It started off with the high waisted pants with the black stripe down the center front of the pant. The turn then went in a different direction with the wool turtleneck sweater she's wearing, and then another turn with a more futuristic/avant garde look with her high heeled boots and jeweled facemask. Although I guess she could have more of an older time feel to her as well, since she's the only one with long hair. Nowadays, it seems like more of a rarity to see or be a woman with this length of hair.
You really shouldn't have favorites but...she's my favorite out of the bunch! Shh! Don't tell the other three! Obviously I really enjoy the mysterious feel of masks on my ladies. I feel like it adds a nice layer of mischief. Especially going back to the interaction with her and the woman crouching down beside her.
The portrait piece on the bottom left, showcases a woman with a super curly bob shaped up into a circle, pulled back by a headband. With dangling jewelry and also showing off the top of her top, that is simply some round jewels. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten around to creating her by herself yet. I need to get into it with how the crouching girl is and.. Just thinking about editing and re-drawing digitally makes me cringe inside! I'm not a big fan of doing my art digitally.. ah! I digress!
The kneeling girl is titled, "Kneeling".
This piece is on the bottom right, she's got a cute bob adorned with a headband. A halter top with jewels on the top that is half in half out of her high waisted color blocked leggings and no shoes. Her only jewelry being the one arm band that is on her upper arm with chains that attach to her wrist. What was I thinking when I doodled her? You know what, it's been so long, I can't even tell ya!
Thank you for stopping by and reading a bit about my sketches! When I do them most of the times I don't have any particular inspiration or muse. Unless I do. This round I didn't. The urge to just create art was there, and these gals are the fruit of that.
Because sometimes, you just need to Do. Even if there's no rhyme or reason behind it. Just to get something Out! That's enough.
Toodles Doodles!
P.S. These ladies are also on shirts and available for prints! I'm also working on coasters at the moment as well! Nylon ones and ceramic!
