Here goes to another break down and deep dive! This week we'll be going into the process of our Gal and Arrow Warrior!
I wanna say she was my second piece I started in this series. I wanted to give my take on Pocahontas who, is one of my favorite Disney Princesses! When I was younger my Grandfather would take me to old tourist shops in PA and they'd have these Native American girl dolls. I always thought they looked so beautiful. There were sculptures and porcelain dolls and I had gotten some. But, as you get older, unfortunately, sometimes things go missing...
Another inspiration for the character design was the Amazons from Xena: Warrior Princess! Anyone here ever seen that show?! I remember watching it as a child with my mom, I never saw the whole thing through but, I distinctly remember these women and loving the costume design of the show.
Now I obviously took a more sexy tone with some action to it. Trying to tie in the bows and arrows, as well as the knives strapped on her thighs, and calf high flat boots. Because you know home girl will be running around on the ground and, any woman knows it's hard as Heck to just walk around on the bare ground let alone be running! Haha!
So now that I've chatted about the piece, if you're interested in having her in your life, you can find her on the site. We have her as a print, and also on shirts! In regards of the shirts, she's on them with a background and without a background.
Thank you for stopping by for another break down of the Warrior Women series! Next week I'll be diving into the last of the current four of the series, Viking Women Ready for Battle.
Toodles Doodles!
